Old Friend is about being stabbed in the back by the ONE person you trusted the most. This person was fake and very toxic to have in my life as a best friend. I was lied to, manipulated and talked badly about by this person behind my back. So I blocked them completely out of my life because I knew that deep inside, this isn’t a REAL or best friend AT ALL. I remember that day so clearly. I was SOO hurt, angry and disappointed. First thing I wanted to do was vent about it to someone but nobody was around me to do so, I didn’t have a car at the time and my phone was coincidentally DEAD. So I grabbed a pencil and my notebook and took ALL of my anger out with the ending result being THIS SONG. All I could say after it was all written was, “You’re just an old friend now”. I know many of you can relate to this because we’ve all had that person in our life. I’m just hoping that I can provide the comfort for you that’s needed.🥺❤️
